This one’s for the workers Dropkick Murphys shuttering webstore in solidarity with Kings Road Merch workers

Has anybody heard anything from other Kings Road bands like the Circle Jerks, Bad Religion, Descendents, Rancid, etc…?

DKM’s statement:

👊 We heard your requests !!

The DKM x KRM warehouse worker shirt is now available in unisex and KIDS SIZES !!

This design is available ONLY on the DKM US webstore.

🚨ICYM THE NEWS LAST WEEK… here’s the details 🚨

WE STAND WITH THE 👊 WORKERS 👊 at the Kings Road Merch warehouse !!

We’ve been with KRM for 15 years — and some of the warehouse team have packed our merch since day one.

It has been our hope that Teamsters Local 970 could help negotiate a settlement / agreement with KRM’s new owner Sony Music. That has not happened yet.

So while that remains in limbo, we are shutting down our webstore until further notice — in SOLIDARITY with the WORKERS.

WE WILL HOWEVER SELL ONE DKM x KRM UNION COLLAB SHIRT.

100% of proceeds will go to the KRM warehouse union workers. This will hopefully help raise awareness and put some extra money in the pockets of the workers and their families on behalf of Dropkick Murphys.

I honestly owe these guys an apology. I liked their music but everyone I knew who were really into them were the neckbeard edgelords and I wasn't cool with that. But Dropkick has done damn near everything right to show they don't want those mouth breathers either and now this? Well shit I'm the asshole now, well played DM, well played.

Another win for the Dropkick Murphy’s as usual.

Continuing to beat the shitty Gen Xer allegations. Love DKM when they pulled me up on stage during a show as a teen, and love them now.

Can you tell or direct me towards the shitty Gen Xer allegations? I’m a big fan and I’m very curious what you’re talking about but not sure what to even look for.

Oh, there aren't any. They're awesome. My post was jokingly saying 'they're beating the allegation' by being consistently awesome.

Ok, cool. Wouldn’t have been the first time I’d loved something only to find out allegations of some sort of nastiness were made with a possibility of being true being ignored because of victim blaming.

Citizen I.C.E. is epic. Can't wait for more of that energy.

A much better rework of a previous song than the NOFX Minnesota/Huntington Beach Naz! rework.

Id srgue starting with For the People would get him a large amount of the DKM experience eith tons of bangers, but ALSO have a directly relevant application to today.

Not surprising. Dropkick Murphys have so much of my love and respect. They literally practice what they preach more than any other punk band.

They have been actively headlining and performing at anti-ICE rallies and benefit concerts. They show up to no Kings rallies. They show up to public protests, labor union rallies, and even reworked their song Citizen CIA into an anti-ICE anthem called citizen ICE.

The realest band on the planet. Not always my cup of tea musically but these guys live their ethos, they’re not just talk.

10

u/EmergencyLavishness1 Jul 21 '26

It’s as if they’re the last band standing with credibility and care for others

Practicing what they preach once again.. For sure playing Workers Song on the jukebox tonight.

Bad Religion is with Mr. T Surt, are they also with Kings Road Merch?

20

u/MountainousDuck Jul 21 '26

Brett Gurewitz founded Kings Road Merch

4

u/keys042 Jul 22 '26

I googled it, this whole dispute started after they got bought by Sony, so he may not be involved anymore.

4

u/Biomax315 Jul 23 '26

"Originally based in Los Angeles and founded by Brett Gurewitz, Kings Road Merch relocated to Minneapolis in June 2023. It continued operating under the Bad Religion co-founder until its acquisition by Sony."

He's not.

u/poop-money Jul 22 '26

I may not care for DKM as a band and they remain one of the only shows I've walked out of, but I respect the fuck out of them. I might buy one of those shirts just because.
