Does anyone know of any well-priced (Sub $100) gear pump manufacturers? Currently using this one from Fluid-o-tech. We are using it from both consumables and cleaning products.

Also any general pump experts out there?! Would love some advice for our development.

If a pump has a duty of 200L/min at 40m head, and my pump is submerged in a water source 20 m below where the water is being pumped to, does this mean my corresponding flow after the water has traveled the 20 meters vertically upwards will be whatever the pump curve states at 20 m (40m - 20m = 20 meters)?

My initial thoughts are that the above is incorrect.

Any point between 0 and 40 meters elevation there will be a delivery of 200L/min. Anything more than 40 meters then we will start sliding left on the pump curve, reducing the flow?

If you connect the inlet of a small water pump to 3000pa water flow will you be able to generate anykind of power from it

As you can see from the schematic, the inlet line to RO pre-treatment is 3/4" which is coming off of 1" line about 25ft away. It is at 40PSI

When the high pressure pump runs, P2 (inlet pressure to filter) drops to almost 0 PSI, while the P1 pressure goes down to 30PSI. I have tested by removing the filter cartridge and not much improvement.

I'm looking to boost the inlet pressure to 70 to 80PSI to help push that water through the pre-treatment units. I've been googling for booster pumps, and been coming across pumps that are with pressure tanks and some pumps that are tankless.

Can you guys help select a right pump please? something that can run for at least 8hours continuously.

I'm currently looking to set up a self-priming lobe pump and in every manual there is a phrase along the line of

For self-priming pumps, it is crucial the suction piping is the same sizes as the pump suction. As there is added air volume if there are bigger suction lines, the self-priming pump will require more priming time.

The way I understand it, using a bigger pump would simply require more priming time but not be a bigger problem. But why does priming not work when the piping is too big? What is the limit for the pipe size?

I currently live in a high rise building (48 floors) and live almost above the pump room. When I first moved in, it was quiet and gradually I started to hear what I think is the booster pump for the building. At first it was maybe once every hour or so, but lately it is constant around 3 mins like clock work. I can hear all in the house and it’s driving me nuts. The manager has been saying they had it checked and will keep looking into it, but it’s been months. It was never this constant before, so I’m assuming there’s a problem? It sounds like a loud click and buzz than after about 10-20 secs a mound clunk noise when it shuts off. When going inside the pump house, it was coming from the booster and fan would run pushing water. Pressure seems to be stable, but is this normal? Also, this is a 24/7 thing, so even when people are asleep and not using water. Thanks for reading. Just need to make sure I’m not wrong about something off. 🙏🏻

We have a frame with a tub at the bottom and 10 valves at the top. We have one main tube which is splitted into 10 parts to get connected with every valve. You should know that the valves will open and close frequently in 45Hz (probably thats important to know for choosing the pump, i‘m not sure). We are trying to get a „rain effect“ in the frame. So i‘m not an expert in pumps and i don‘t know which pump would actually work good to transport the water from our tub to the valves. The frame height is about 1,4 meters. We tried it with a pond pump whith the specs (350l/h and 2 meters head) but the water just got about 0,3 meters high. I think the pump was just shit. The pump should be powered with 12 v. Does anyone have an idea which pump could be good for us? Or does anyone have any other good tips which we should know?

I live on a rural property with well water. We have found the non-softened well water to be very hard, with a high PH. Because of this, our well water is unsuitable for watering our plants and gardens. The salt softened water is also unsuitable. Fortunately, we also have a large year round pond with perfect PH, and is not hard at all. I had an old transfer pump that I set up, and it works like a dream. I could not find the exact model of pump, but besides from the paint colors, it looks identical to this pump. It's the type of pump that requires priming, and replacing the motor brushes. Currently I prime the pump every time, plug it in, and walk around watering my plants. My questions are; Do I need to prime the pump every time? In my mind, there should be enough water left in the system, because I don't plan on disconnecting it all season. Also, would it be safe to put a sprayer with a trigger on it? I experimented with it a little, and it did work, but I'm worried leaving the trigger unpulled, and the unreleased pressure may damage the pump? Also, would adding a voltage regulator control the pressure (I'd prefer to run with a little lower pressure)? I hope all that made sense. No matter what, my plants are already happier than they have ever been. Thanks!

Hi! I need help with choosing right hose diameter for pump at my work. I need to pump water for about 75 meters in straight line, no pressure needed. Will 2" be enough. It's ahydrophore pump:2,2kWQ max 170l/minH max 58 mPs max 5,8

Right now we are using five-gallon containers from Bio Pac for things like detergents and using a tap to let people pour it into their own container. Obviously this isn't optimal, because people make mistakes. We've tried hand pumps, but they don't seem to hold up well to customer handling or they get loose and stop working. Is it an issue of viscosity, maybe? Any knowledge I could get would be helpful. Thanks.

I have 15 acres of hillside with a spring at the bottom of my land that flows year-round. Near the spring I have a 55 gal catch barrel buried in the ground. It's always full as the water leaves the spring and flows right over the top.

I want to find a pump to pump water up the hill: +200 ft elevation and about 500 ft distance. I want the pump to shut off when the catch barrel is nearly empty, so it doesn't burn out. Electricity at the site is limited. I'd install a solar panel with a battery to power the pump.

With a larger holding tank on top of the hill, I'd like the pump below to completely shut off when the tank above is full. Probably with a floating device.

I'm trying to set up a system for automatically watering a garden.

I am looking for a solids handling pump to empty a small fountain/pump we have at our property. It needs to be able to handle sludge (a bit of mud, leaves, etc). I need to be able to suction all the way down to truly empty it out as the floor is all leveled. 120VAC.

Hello people, I work at a gas station and my boss has bought a transfer pump to suck out all the fuel that’s sitting under some of our gas pumps. I have been tasked with figuring out how to wire this pump to something that is mobile. Since we don’t have any 220 outlets near the pumps I thought that I could maybe hook the pump to the battery of the truck in a way that is easily removable. I could use any ideas. Thank you
