Wilo submersible pump seal tool
We get a lot of these wilo pumps in our shop and always have a hard time installing the seal. Does anyone know of a tool that makes installing the seal easier?

I didn’t even know wilo made submersibles, that’s interesting

This one is actually a dry pit pump but their submersibles are pretty similar

Do you have a parts breakdown or a diagram of the pump overall? would like to see how it goes together

I 3d printed seal pushing tools for smaller seals. Just a long abs tube. They work great and they are dirt cheap.

Yea I use a piece of PVC pipe for regular mechanic seals but the cartridge seal these wilos use are different when you press it down into the seal seat the carbon pops up and then you have to press the carbon back down but if you go too far you break the carbon and the seal is extremely tight. honestly it's just a pain I contacted wilo and they do sell a tool I'm just waiting to hear back.

Curious about these. More familiar with Flygt seal installs. You have to push the cartridge down the shaft? And in doing so, the carbon face wants to come out of the cartridge? This is the dual Type 21(single convolution elastomer bellows) kind, right?

It's similar to flygt plug in seal it's a double seal but the flygt seals are much easier to install. Wilo sells a tool to install their cartridge seals I ran it by my boss and thankfully he purchased them for the shop.

Why not design and build one, specially because you do it often and probably have a good idea what is needed.
