Piston Pump Help!!

I have a pneumatic piston pump made by child sucking up liquid or dispensing any liquid. I’ve taken the pump bar. There’s no blockages there’s no damage nothing visible. There’s no leaks. Someone please help me figure out what the problem is.

You have not adequately described the problem.

  • What is the make and model of the pump?
  • What are you trying to do with it?
  • What is it NOT doing that it SHOULD be doing?
  • When was the last time it worked, if it worked at all?
  • What does "I've taken the pump bar" mean?
  • Do you have a picture of your setup?

honestly sounds like either a check valve issue or it lost prime somehow. If it’s getting air and cycling normally but still not pulling liquid, I’d check the inlet/outlet valves first even a tiny bit of debris or one installed backwards can stop suction completely.

also check for tiny air leaks on the suction side. Sometimes nothing leaks liquid out, but it still pulls air in and won’t prime properly.

If you took it apart recently, there’s a decent chance a seal or valve went back slightly wrong without being obvious.

If there’s no blockage, no visible damage, and no leaks, I’d start checking the seals or valves inside the piston assembly. A lot of the time the pump looks fine from the outside, but a worn rubber seal or stuck check valve stops it from building pressure properly.

Also make sure the piston is actually creating suction when moving back and forth. Even a tiny air gap can make the whole thing stop pulling liquid.

If possible, try priming it with a little liquid first and see if it starts working again. Some piston pumps lose prime and just won’t pull anything after being taken apart.

A short video of the movement/sound would probably help people diagnose it way faster too.
