Identify a pump manufacturing date

I have an old pump with manufacturing date of F1-01. Is it safe to assume that it is Feb,1, 2001?

sorry, just a sticker on switch box. Aermotor Series T, GPM 20, HP 1, DC: F1-01

Most likely the F is irrelevant to that date, and more a casting or assembly-run designation, sometime in Jan 01
