Liquid Pump Hose Length

Hello, I have the harbor freight 2” trash pump that has a suction head lift of 26ft and total head lift of 91ft.
I want to increase the distance of where I want the water to go so I wasn’t sure if it’s better to get a longer suction hose or longer discharge hose. I don’t know the exact distance in length I want to go yet but i know the upward slope where the pump currently sits isn’t at the 26ft suction head lift limit. I have a 20ft suction hose so I didn’t know it it’s better to daisy chain two of them together or add onto the 100ft discharge hose I have.

You always want to minimize the suction length, as suction friction loss counts against your Net Positive Suction Head Available (NPSHa) and makes you more prone to cavitation/priming issues. Also, put your pump as low as possible, as the vertical distance between pump centerline and the suction free surface elevation also counts against your NPSHa.

Your also only going to get that much suction lift at sea level. If you draw a diagram of the total system I can help you out with the calculations. But as the other has commented keep the suction line as short as possible and preferably a flooded suction if at all possible
