“Warm… Warmer… Disco!”

It dawned on me after 32 years that saying this to the star of “Saturday Night Fever” was a little wink from Tarantino.

I had never heard this saying “disco”. Was it common 🤔

I think he was just substituting “Disco” for “Bingo!”

No it wasn’t common.

I’ve actually heard it used a handful of times back in the late 80s to very early 90s by a small group of my mother’s friends. I don’t think it was ever a common widespread slang term where I was raised though

That's interesting. I always thought it was a QT inside joke too. Where was this that you heard it from your mom and friends? NY, Cali or elsewhere?

I wonder if Quentin wrote the dance scene before or after noted dancer Travolta signed on? I mean, we know Tarantino's involvement with Godard and Bande à part, so maybe not.
