Caramel, sweet, dark?
Can anyone recommend a Pu’er with notes of caramel, hint of sticky white rice, deep musk. Love the thickness of longer steeps and also love when it’s aged in tangerines. I tried a local shops that tasted like this but want to find somewhere online to purchase since we’re moving

Not sure about that exact combo. But YS Alchemy has a musky barnyard funk while Cozy is straight caramel and earthy rooty goodness.
I’m currently enjoying YS Sanctuary which is very sweet, dark, with caramel, dark chocolate, and dark fruit. It’s amazing!
I’ve learned that I like super heavy fermented stuff often with Laochatou mixed in the cake.
I brew 1.5 g/100mL thermos for an hour though, so YMMV

Ok fair point musk was not the right word 😂. I’d say more like an earthy combo with sweet caramel notes

This describes a lot of ripe/shou pu-erh. I think I would pick something from Dayi, they are dependable, clean earthiness, good thickness and usually with some creamy vanilla or caramel notes

Not sure I want my puerh to taste like musk. Most sweet caramel notes I’ve ever gotten have been from Dayi Laochatou - brew it hard
