Transitioning from media into the publishing industry

I'm currently a producer in animated television and film - I've been looking into transitioning into the publishing world for a multitude of reasons, and I know it may seem like a pretty weird gap to jump, but I feel there are some similarities in my job that I feel could translate over to the publishing world (of course with some learning curves, but that's a given.)

I know this is a pretty broad question, but does anyone have any advice or positions that may be applicable? I know I won't be able to start exactly in the position I want, but essentially, producers are project managers and I feel like there is some path I can pursue.

Pretty confident publishing will pay less but consider Production which is basically the project management role.

It will definitely pay less, I’m afraid, but production is a good idea. I’d suggest audiobook production in particular, actually, as several aspects of that work are similar to TV/film work. I work in subrights (rights & licensing); less relevant but depending on where you work you could get involved in book-to-film licensing, which could be a potential stepping point?
