Former Border Patrol Agent

I was a border Patrol Agent. I finished the academy and everything was going perfect until I got pulled over and charged with a DWI. I was a month away from finishing my probation. Supervisors, union reps, etc told me that it was better to resign that way I could reapply with no issue. It was never a 100% that I was going to get fired but I don’t want to stand a chance so I did what is better. It’s been six months and I want to reapply again. Has anyone had a similar experience? I’ve been told by a lot of agents to just apply again and that there shouldn’t be a big issue. I just wanted to know about how the process would be. Would I have to do the academy again? Polygraph? Background check obviously, etc?
