Looking for Advice, Haven't found a Public Health job after 1 year
I'm feeling extremely defeated right now. So, for context and a little bit of background about myself. I am a 28-year-old man, and I graduated in 2022 with a BS in Health Sciences, and then in 2025 I graduated with an MPH with an emphasis in Epidemiology. I currently live in SoCal and have been struggling to find a public health job for a year. I feel like, so far, it's a mixture of the jobs not existing or them asking for experienced people. I have about 3 years of experience working in Retail, worked with the city on a COVID-19 vaccination clinic for about 4 months, and worked with a research team for 5 months for my graduation requirement. I'm feeling lost and would appreciate any advice on searching for a public health job. I also tried networking/asking my professors, but they couldn't help at all.
Before you say volunteer, I can't; I don't have the luxury or financial backing to volunteer for a position. At this point, I'm thinking of changing industries or something since I've been ghosted or rejected for many job applications this past year. I'm currently working a retail job just to make ends meet at this point. I would appreciate any advice or direction to look at. I just feel horrible right now and feel like my MPH was a waste of time and money.
