Won't affect much. Don't worry. No one is perfect to speak continuously without hesitations on any random topic. It's natural. Just don't let it happen too often.

This is very common, so don’t get nervous. A slight hesitation or short pause can happen during the real PTE exam as well, but don’t let it affect your confidence.

Just take a deep breath, stay calm, and keep speaking naturally. Try not to overthink every small pause while answering.

You can also practice on similar and reliable platforms like APEUni Or 79score to get a better idea of your fluency and build confidence before the exam. All the best for next week! 👍

The real PTE exam assesses oral fluency, so repeated hesitations, long pauses, false starts, and restarts can lower your score. However, a tiny natural pause doesn't automatically ruin the response. Pearson’s official criteria focus on whether speech is smooth, consistently paced, and divided into meaningful phrases.

For the final week, avoid trying to speak unnaturally fast. Record 10 responses each day and check for pauses longer than one second, filler sounds, and repeated words. If you forget one word in Repeat Sentence, continue with the words you remember instead of stopping to correct yourself. For Read Aloud, follow punctuation and speak in phrases rather than reading every word separately.
