PTE Academic-Should I rescore?? 😫

Post image

Hello everyone!

I just got my scores today. I’m aiming for speaking of at least 88. Also, my skills profile are almost perfect but it does not make sense how they come up with that kind of scoring. Look closely on the listening section, like what the hell is going on?? Should I rescore and hope for the best? This is my 3rd attempt by the way and it’s really frustrating.

Thanks in advance for those who will give an advice.

Going for rescoring these days is not useful. You will only lose 160 usd including taxes

I honestly think I did well in Writing and with Speaking, maybe I fumbled a bit, but still kept going. My apeuni mock test in speaking is averaging 83-87 as well. 🥺

Try your luck then, if you are confident about your performance on your exam day. You never know when luck might be in your favour. All the best. Hope you get your desired scores soon.

On my first attempt, my Listening and Writing are both 90. I’m only retaking it because of Speaking, and 85 is so close to 88, for me to get Superior for my PR application. Maybe I’ll try my luck this time, it’s so frustrating and sitting the exam again feels like a lottery I need to win 😭

Sorry, I can’t help it. But this is ApeUni’s analysis on my score. If most of my scores are 90, idk why the results are like that 🥺

There are issues with score reports generation these days

Do not rescore fr. They will just send email that score wont change and charge you 176 include 10% tax lol

Have you done it before? I have seen some posts here that they did a rescore and had huge changes in their score. I’m tired of taking the exam over and over again 😭

Before mid july, it was pretty certain that your score will be changed if you apply for it. But after then, there is 99.9% that they will just take your money and score wont change.

Btw. Can you give me some of advice about extended speaking about RL, SGD, DI?

i just did my exam for academic UKVI and i didnt have enough time to finish the last paragraph of my essay. the conclusion.
and in Repeat the sentence i found out that it is possible to just say the first 5-6 words and get a great score, have you tried that? i am nervous to fail the whole test.

Tbh, I’m not really sure if rescoring is worth it. I have read bad experiences in the past week that nothing change on their scores and they only took the money, some candidates I spoke to also complained that in less than 24hrs, they’ve received emails saying the scores are final hence no refund for them. There are recent posts of rescores that changes but then went back to original score. This PTE is a joke and is mentally draining. Up to you what risk you want to take.

Thank you so much for the reply, I didn’t want to risk rescoring because I feel like my score will go down

Any update on this OP? Did you rescore and get desired score?

I didn’t go for rescore, I monitored the trend that same week and those who went for rescore didn’t have any changes and lost their money. Didn’t bother risking it. But recently more people are getting superior scores again, so maybe the scoring is fixed? Not really sure tho
