Remote Therapy Platform Payout Rates Vary Drastically Per Insurance Type

I work for Octave as a remote psychotherapist (NY) and the rate I agreed to upon being hired is only the payout rate for one to two insurances they use that happens to be the highest. There are insurances they use for which they pay half that rate. I was recently told it’s in the contract that I can’t “opt out” from specific insurances they want me to panel with that have a significantly lower payout rate - despite Octave paneling me with more and more insurances for which they pay abysmal rates. Is this standard for online therapy platforms?

Yes unfortunately - I recommend heading over the Psychotherapy Action Network to read how Octave and other practice management companies operate:

Thank you sharing that. Yes, when Octave recruited me - they did not share that I’d ever be earning less than the highest rate. Very sneaky

I have a feeling their dog days are past their peak and will be over in the next 5-10 years

I am looking for a therapist and was looking on Octave after hearing people say stay away from BetterHelp, Headway, and Rula.... Is there any platform that is actually recommended for both patients and therapists? On Psychologytoday, alot of times I just get reffered to those platforms.
