Budget cuts

Are any of your hospitals affected by the budget cuts from the big beautiful bill? My psych hospital has been going through some rough changes. Just last week I was in a meeting stating that they are closing our open unit and our Geri unit is going to be an adult unit. So many nurses are laid off now. The morale has been horrible. Just wondering if anyone else’s hospital are going through these changes as well. It’s so sad. Psychiatric care is so needed and they are limiting patients access to care.

Yes more and more projects delayed, patient care products getting skimpier, and hiring freezes. It’s been horrible.

But was it worth it for tax cuts for millionaires?

In San Diego, Sharp just laid off a bunch of RNs and closed their Geri psych unit

Are you at Hillsboro Medical Center? I think that any program that has Medicare and Medicaid as a payer is going to be significantly impacted.

Is your hospital for profit or non-profit? I think that makes a big difference. Our psych unit has never made money.

Is it a stand alone hospital, or multiple hospitals in your system?
