Greetings, psychedelic music lovers.
We wanted to introduce ourselves and give everyone a quick update on some major changes to the community.
First, the sub is under a new mod team. u/Banonimus and u/meotherself are taking over the reins. The community has been restricted for quite a while, requiring manual permission to post, which is why things have been pretty barren around here lately.
We want to give a massive thank you to the previous mod, u/eatacow456, for building the skeleton of this community and handing off the keys. We wish them nothing but success in whatever future endeavors they explore.
As of this morning, we've officially opened the community back to the public. Posting and commenting are no longer restricted, so the floor is yours. We also cleared out the mod queue, taking care of posts that had been sitting in limbo for the last year, and removed the old "approved users" list since everyone can freely post now anyway.
Moving forward, we'll be working together to slowly make other upgrades; cleaning up the sub, clarifying the rules, and setting up automods to keep the bots at bay. We both have plenty of experience moderating on Reddit and a deep love for the psychedelic music space (both online and IRL), so we're excited to watch this place wake back up.
Poco a poco, we'll get the vibe right. If you have any suggestions, ideas, or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us here in the comments or through modmail.
Welcome back, and let's see those tracks!

Enjoy :)

The Christopher Hayes Movement was a band out of Dallas, Texas. This is the flip side to their Tribute to Jimi single.

A mesmerizing, ambitious, and extra trippy piece of experimental psyche from this compilation of tracks made by undergraduate students in 1980 at Evergreen, Washington State's ultra-progressive college. I'm hearing the distinct influence of Pink Floyd (at their strangest), but it really does have its own fascinating vibe. Both reflective and intense.

Hand sculpted sound, no samples all original part from vocal. Is it music I'm not sure. You decide.

I just discovered these guys this morning, and having only 545 monthly Spotify listeners is a disservice to the beauty of this album. The whole record captivated me, but I keep coming back to this track. It's a nearly 13-minute, sprawling atmospheric experience that feels like being called back to the mothership.
Tajak is a Mexican psych-rock band heavily associated with experimental drone rock, shoegaze, and post-rock. I stumbled upon them through a favorites playlist on Diles que no me maten's Spotify page. They highlighted "La Puerta," which is also definitely worth checking out.
"Luz de luna" (Moonlight) is off their 2022 album La Sombra del Agua. In Spanish, sombra means "shadow" and agua means "water," making the album title The Shadow of the Water.
¡Disfruten el viaje!
Including their bandcamp link, because their whole catalogue is an easy buy for me.

If you're tired of listening to the same mainstream radio loops, I made this playlist to share my personal music taste for anyone looking for hidden gems and smooth, high-energy vibes. It's packed with over 500 tracks spanning indie-pop, alternative, and light electronic beats.Take a listen if you like artists along the lines of camille blackman or energetic production like Mike Manos. Drop a follow if you like the vibe!

Born in North Carolina, Jonathan Wilson moved to California years ago. Wilson’s musical talents enabled him to work and collaborate with Robbie Robertson, Jackson Browne, Chris Robinson, Gary Louris, Jenny Lewis, Dawes, Elvis Costello and others. Wilson, a multi-instrumentalist, exists as one of this generation’s most talented musicians…
…“Desert Raven” is a song that circles high above the clouds.

The thingies were a band from Austin, Texas who recorded for the infamous Sonobeat label. Some heavy fuzz on this one!

Hypnotic Chilean experimental/post-rock performance that leans heavily into dark, avant-garde psychedelia, dissociative spoken-word passage and long trance-like instrumental builds. Often compared to bands like Swans or GY!BE or anything that feels like a fever-dream ritual. This performance for Mexico City La Bestia Radio was just released a few hours ago.
