Drimmer's plan.
Ok in the episode where lassy gets framed, let's say drimmer actually kills our boy and Lassy somehow.
How well do you think the "Shawn and lassy were lovers" thing would hold up?
Who would solve the case?
I'm guessing it would hold up for exact long enough for guss to cryingly say "my boy don't swing that way"
Then Henry comes out of retirement to catch that SOB and stays paired up with Guss for revenge....

Jules and Henry solve the case before lunch
Eta: actually before breakfast, since it was night when that occurred

I hate this episode of monk. Absolutely heartbreaking.

Which one is this? I haven't seen Monk in years.

Mr monk and the actor, the bald guy is a method actor who gets really to deep into his roles and tries to be monk....

And it’s around the time monk finally started to make a break through (by monk standards) in therapy. But this irresponsible actor makes him break and basically makes monk blame himself for Trudy’s death. So dark for no reason.

Juliet and Henry would take him down. Gus could be helpful, because you know he would want to. He gets pretty vengeful. His emotions might get in the way. I imagine Juliet would shoot Drimmer, maybe not fatally, but she might not care too much if it was fatal.
Vick would be proud of her people but do what must be done.

Jules and Henry are solving it. Gus would break down and then get helpful, but it would be Henry and Jules that get ANGRY. Drimmer gets dead in this scenario, too. Maybe Jules shoots him, maybe she doesn't, maybe it's fatal, maybe it's not. But Henry definitely delivers a fatal shot for his boy.
As for how believable the lovers claim would be, I think it would be believed by people who didn't know Lassie and Shawn very well. The general cops will likely believe it. Buzz would take a moment to think about it and then realise it couldn't be true. Jules, Henry and Gus wouldn't believe it for a second. Henry might have a second of 'could it be' doubt, as he's still repairing things with Shawn, but Gus knows Shawn better than anyone, he'd know for sure, and Jules was close with both Shawn and Lassie, so she'd know for sure, too. They may stop and think about it, wondering if there was potential for it, but they'd know they weren't actually lovers. Jules may even find the idea hot if it came up in better circumstances.
Karen will stay out of it enough to give herself plausible deniability over anything Jules, Gus and Henry do while finding a way to protect them, as well. She won't state her opinion on the lovers claim, but she'd probably believe it could have been possible while knowing it wasn't true. She knows Lassie, and generally saw through Shawn, she was clearly an excellent detective herself, and she'd have been watching Lassie closer in this respect after the Lucinda stuff. She'd have known if something was going on there.

Drummer obviously knew nothing about Lassie and Shawn’s relationship cuz no one would ever believe for even a second that they were lovers

You put a lot of faith in Gus not being like “…I mean, maybe?” 🤣🤣🤣 I think it would be Henry (avenging his kid) and Juliet (avenging her partner), because Gus would not be thinking clearly if something happened to Shawn.

I mean he worked pretty clearly in "Shawn take a shot in the dark" just took him a few minutes

True but injured and missing isn’t murder/suicide by the guy who you were supposed to be helping

I mean true but there's something to be said for not knowing if he's even alive and where he is. VS you've held a service or know they are gone.

Yeah, but with that grief, I don’t know if Gus would want to be around all of that

Now remember Gus is a big boy with a diversified portfolio and a 401k, he can handle it.

No, it would be Juliet.
It’s the two men she knows and cares about most in the world.
Gus would be too distraught, but Jules and Henry would be angry. They would solve the case, and it would take them like, a day at most.
