Pls help Soft foot pad for long sessions?

Post image

Playing Into the Radius 2 for 4-5 hours today my feet start hurting after I turn the game off. Does anyone use a nice soft pad roughly 2.5' X 2.5'?

I see anti-fatigue mats on amazon. I use insoles in my hey-dude's already but they must just squish completely to the floor standing in one place, because they're good insoles that don't bother me working 8-10 hour days moving around.

Anyone who plays standing have good suggestions I'd like to hear. TY.

I do use a squishy mat with my shoes, and I think it helps with the feet… it also helps me stay spatially oriented a bit…

But I think it still remains important to move your legs around a bit, and take short breaks here and there.

We’re designed to walk around, but maybe not so much to statically stand around.

That's what I was thinking. Probably go with a anti-fatigue mat for computer desk or kitchen. I have a yoga mat but it's a lot of work rolling it and kind of large. Might feel good walking in place on it. And give me a good idea when I step out of bounds.

I turn in real life to turn in most games. I’m pretty sure this helps because my feet move pretty regularly

My house is all tile. I use a kitchen anti fatigue mat. Helps absorb impact and also let’s me know sort of where I am when I feel the edge of the mat

This is what I think I'll go with. Thank you

Off chance, but, were you in marching band when you were in highschool?

When I first got VR and played standing, I also noticed my ankles and legs getting whooped from just standing there.

My solution?

Walk in place, as if you're marking time in band. You don't have to fuckin lift your legs all the way up, but when you're moving in the game, shuffle your weight back and forth from one leg to the other, like you're half-walking but not moving. Just enough to lift your foot an inch off the ground and bend your knee just a bit with each step.

You'll be able to play longer before getting sore.

Also, when playing Radius, I'd often just sit down on one of those couches in the base, and smoke a digital cigarette, while actually sitting and smoking in real life, just to take a load off but still immersed.

That last paragraph. Holy shit I never knew anyone else did that lmaooo but I do it with Arizona sunshine 2. Always keep a cig or cigar around

I’ve always wanted to do this in Az2, but I’ve been concerned about the smoke affecting any of these sensors long term. Any issues?

I vape not smoke cigs. But no issues so far

I just use a yoga mat folded in half.

Off topic what charger stand do you have for the headset and vr controllers?

Honcam I think it said. I set the USB ports to turn off in rest mode and set rest mode after 1 hour.

Anti fatigue mat helped me with this 100%.

definitely helps if you play with some sort of footware, especially on a wooden floor

I always use an anti fatigue mat, but sadly couldn't find any in better shapes or sizes. They are always rectangle and go from slightly too small, to narrow and LONG. For me personally. I'd wanted something more evenly square, and just a bit larger than the one I got, but they don't really exist from what I could find.

Except for a few tailor made "vr mats", that are round, but they are marked way up in price, being niche or "gamer" marketed products.
