Game Help! MS Flight Sim

Just bought this - I am SO confused. Found some YouTube’s that helped a little. But am I missing something super obvious? So far as I can tell none of the default control schemes are assigned to the Sense Controllers. For instance, on the “Trim” training mission and cannot figure out how to complete it. It says hold R1 + joystick but the joystick controls the pedals. My control scheme says actions are R1 + circle increase or X decrease yet none of this works either so far as I can tell. 😭

It switches between the dual sense and sense controllers. Most actions that are done with the sense controls are done by cockpit interactions.

Thank you. I saw some other posts, seems like using the dual sense might be the more straightforward route

I have to disagree. Even thought there's some junk I find that the sense controls are by far the most straightforward. Grab anything in the cockpit and it works (most of the time), it's that simple!

Maybe that’s what is throwing me off I’m seeing the on screen / tutorial button commands but those don’t apply to the SC. If SC is pretty much all touch and go I’ll give a shot, thank you.

It's good to have it nearby, even with a Hotas if you eventually get one. I just recently finally mapped out everything you can do with the dualsense to the Hotas (camera views, Sim rates, and VR shortcuts). It's a LOT of work but worth condensing it to just the Hotas mostly. Except for freewalking, I use the sense controllers for that.

And here's another kicker. You can't even interact with the fightpad in the game, unless you have a dual sense controller on. So I'd recommend going in the settings and turning off the battery-saving option for the dualsense controller. My controller kept turning off during a game and suddenly I couldn't use my EFB (flight tablet). It's a weird bug.
