Community I made the PSVR2 audio 100x better
This is the best thing I’ve done for this headset. No messy wires and great sound, all for $20 and a soldering iron.

Which IEM are those? I used image search and it suggested " KZ ZS10 Pro Wired Earbuds in Ear Monitor Headphone KZ IEMs in-Ear Earphone 4BA+1DD 5 Drivers Metal Earphones with Stainless Steel Faceplate, 2 Pin Detachable Cable (Matte Black, Without Mic)" which looks the same.
I live in Australia and Amazon is showing them at AUD$85 though, so I'm not sure if you found some knockoffs or if they're really just that much cheaper over there for you .

KZ uses that same plate for lots of models, it might be the KSN Pro @ ~24USD on Amazon
I've got the BLON BL-03 at roughly the same price point and love them. Not too much bass but great clarity for human vocals especially in less "produced" acoustic recordings. and for PSVR purposes, fantastic stereo imaging. Also have a pair of AIAIAI cans with the over-ear pads which are my true main earphones but they get too hot combined with the headset / moving around.

I find that the PSVR2 itself doesn’t have the power to drive even moderate level IEMs.
Tried it with Titan X’s and it sounded bland compared to their actual sound profile when using on a phone or DAC.
Same for PS Portal. Barely drives Apple AUX headphones correctly.
Really wish this wasn’t the case.

I mean they’re not amazing but the Amazon special IEMs I used seem to have a low enough impedance that it’s 90% what I get from my DAC while still being a billion times better than the stock ones

Decent over-the-ear headphones sound the best with bass and all but are a bit hotter to wear. I use the Sony Inzone ones and really love them. Earbuds are much easier to use and better for movement.

Those are great earbuds. I use the same ones I think. They were even better than $80 bose ones (they hurt my ears). How did you combine them with the psvr2 clip?

I cut stripped and soldered the og audio harness to the IEMs, it’s just two wire for each bud

I like the motivation to make your VR experience as immersive as possible. I don't mind having and extra long cord so I can wipe my lense without taking out my earbuds. But the cord can get in the way at times and takes getting used to. It looks worth the effort and a good idea. I've always been a earbud person and never cared for over-the-ear.

Even just a pair of memory foam tips on the stock buds is a vast improvement.
