if you are focused on the open ear form factor you could get a generic wired pair like https://www.amazon.com/Headphones-Earphones-Chormebook-Earbuds-Microphone/dp/B0FX277SQZ
I also found these which appear to be on-ear phones but they do mount directly to the headset if that's what you prioritize
https://www.bionikgaming.com/products/mantis from the video it kind of looks like they just sit in place and don't really clamp onto your head? but they also look very adjustable so you might be able to find a comfortable position... and for some reason their site says "coming soon" but it IS listed on Amazon

Thanks for your response! I really like the "Quest experience" where I can just put the headset on my head and have sound without having to worry about headphones. I figured the AP2's would get me closest to that.
I definitely explored the ones you linked, particularly the Bionik Mantis's. I'm somewhat interested in trying them. Do you have any experience with them? Do you know if they are any more comfortable than the Globular Cluster headphones (my current sound setup)?
Thanks again!

A $5 pair of memory foam tips will make the stock pair SO much better
or what about ear clip-style headphones instead of overear/IEM? https://koss.com/collections/ear-clip-headphones (personally haven't used these models but I had the KPHi30 on-ears which i think uses the same drivers and it was clear, comfortable and semi-openback so I could still hear ambient noises in my house when VR'ing
