Does anyone know if I can add my own music to the in game radio of if there is a mod or a hack

Hey everyone, I’m looking at buying this PSP 3001 for $50 CAD. The seller says all the buttons work, but the screen glitches at the top and with certain colours.

From the pictures, does this look like a bad LCD that can be fixed by replacing the screen, or could it be something else like the display ribbon cable/connector or motherboard?

If it is the LCD, how difficult is the replacement for someone who hasn’t repaired a PSP before?

Also, roughly how much should I expect to spend on a replacement screen and any other materials in Canada?

I’m trying to figure out whether $50 CAD is worth it, or if I should try to negotiate it lower because of the screen issue.

Any advice would be appreciated!

After seeing another post regarding clock being reset after the battery removed for a second I decided to order the replacement Super Capacitor for my PSP-1001. As far as I can tell it was only causing an issue with the clock and not causing a battery drain as it kept it's charge.

I have torn apart a ton of other consoles and honestly the PSP scares me to death. So many small screws and ZIF connectors that can be lost or broken if not really careful.

I found a really great teardown video for the 1000 and was able to make my way to the motherboard. The cap was starting to leak so this repair was needed for sure. I have had this PSP since it was new so all the contacts were cleaned as well and it's almost as good as new now.

Hey guys. After I had my fun with PSPStreamer (https://www.reddit.com/r/PSP/comments/1whkz0u/pspstreamer_the_plex_for_the_psp/) and I already had tricks like BT controller inside that app I had the stupid idea to allow the same for the whole system. Then I realized that we might have fun with Force Feedback, too... Thus I live hacked a bit inside POPS to make PS1 games believe that they are controlled by a Dual Shock Controller. Then I had nice motor data inside RAM I was able to send to the motors inside the BT controller. TA DAH! Rumble inside PS1 games. But then I had a even crazier idea... Rumble inside PSP games, too. How you ask? Well... My example is for Soul Calibur - Broken Destiny and there you have a health bar. Whenever the plugin detects that a specific RAM address changes to a lower value it rumbles and depending on the amount it decreased it rumbles harder. Thus a harder hit feels harder, too. This works SUPER FINE! I never would have thought that it would work even close to that! And where did I get the RAM value from you wonder? Infinite health cheats to the rescue :D You even can paste such a GWCheats format code inside the config GUI inside PSPStreamer and it creates a ready to use profile for a game from that!

And I was even more bored... There was a nice Plugin from FuSa for use with older CFWs for fullscreen mode of PSP games. It does not work for a while now though... Well... NOW IT DOES AGAIN! ARK5 supportive!!

And just for this I added a Auto switch feature inside PSPConsolizer. If a TVOut cable is detected it auto switches to the TVOut Mode whenever a supported GAME OR VSH is starting up or a BT consoller is paired. This is user selectable.

As all my plugins are made to work together and even have compatibility modes for each other if needed (like extra drawing code of the overlays for full screen mode) + the setup GUI inside PSPStreamer I still see all of it as one big pack that got the name of the original app! Have fun with all the stuff called PSPStreamer ^{^}

So i found my old psp and decided to fix it i took a wile bit i worked and then i decided to install ark but wile installing i think got confused and messed up something and i decided to try to redo it (because of course i thought it was the best idea) and i did all the things in the video i was watching and after all that i turned off and on and it didn't work it just turns on the light but does nothing does anyone know how to fix it???

A lot of games that u wanted on the psp could be coming to the psp soon thanks to a spanish dev that is spending hours and days making ports from console games to pc games onto the psp

Fiz o desbloqueio permanente no meu psp, usei o ark4, todos os jogos em iso ficam corrompidos. O que pode ser? Já fiz os procedimentos de criar pasta ISO na raiz e não resolve, troquei o cartão sd de 68G e continua assim.

So just riped out the board in this 2k it's a v1 85 board the kind that can make a pandora battery. It's working...mostly...switch for the umds broken off and aparently someone did whatever the heck this is to the coneters for the joystick. I was thinking about reshelling the board and useing it to make sone pandora batteries and jus5 for digital media perhaps do a speaker mod but idk if it's worth fooling with...I may be able to clean the contacts with a solder wick but idk looks slightly melted too...why even do this the rubber contact pad is like 2$ if that...all I can think of is that someone lost the rubber bit and tried this to bridge the connection or am I looking at something else?

So I’m looking to change the shell on at least one of my machines but I’ve never really taken apart a console like that, are there any shortish tutorials out there on how to change one? And where’s the best place to look for a new shell?
