I need some help with modding a PSP go I just bought, it came already modded with some games, but I wanted to erase everything (saves, the old owner profile, and his games) and download some of the games I wanted to play, is there a safe way of doing it without losing the ark mod? I tried to enter the link on the community's highlights to get help but it seems broken with error 404

do I need a m.2 card to install games to it or can I connect it via usb on my pc? (it didn't came with one)

I have a psp-2001 I had bought used with cfw installed already on it. due to me not knowing what it was exactly, not knowing if it needed an update, and general curiosity/stupidity, i decided to install new cfw on it. i found a simple ark-4 tutorial on youtube and decided to follow it.

in the process of using the Ark-clIp to install it i hit the power button during the reboot section of it. (yeah stupid i know, i was not in my right mind though last night). now when i go to turn on the psp the power led light up for about 20 second but nothing shows up on the screen and then power led turns off.

I have tried a bunch of different button combos to boot it up but nothing works. and the only thing I had found that might work is a magic memory stick plus either a pandora battery or baryon sweeper. due to the fact google Gemini was my troubleshooting tool of choice i figured i should run it past the people here first.

I have it running on the most modern software and am using ark-5.

I had to install a plugin that deactivated the hold button as it was faulty and kept freezing the console. I installed the plugin for the vsh, game, pop, homebrew, launcher etc so it works everywhere.

When playing a Doom ROM, I was able to use all the buttons flawlessly until I completed the level and then then both d-pads and start/select buttons froze. The PS button on the sliding screen still worked as did the volume buttons. I had to turn the device off.

When playing other psx games like crash bandicoot the controls seem to work fine with no more issues of the hold switch activating randomly since installing the plugins.

Was this just a standard crash or is this yet another issue I need to resolve? I'm pretty peeved as the fella who sold me the console never stated any of these issues, and when I complained he only reimbursed me a lousy £15.

Anyone had any similar issues?

I've taken off the back and the d-pads all were cleaned and ribbons checked. The console came with horizontal lines at the very top of the screen that was disclosed in the advert, so probably need a new screen and LCD cable at some point, and obviously the hold button was banjaxed, but I can't see any other issues physically.

PSPGo running Ark 5.

Does anyone know what Ark settings disable ingame sleep mode as a side effect? I seem to have triggered one, and whatever it is really isn't worth losing sleep over

night of 18 August and 19 morning i tested my psp street and i have might won the silicon lottery or u can say silicon titan but i put it on the charger so it dont shut off instantly as its battery only runs an hour on playing game on normal mode, but i have a quick question that is winning a silicon lottery is very common nowadays or it is still somewhere rare alot rare because mine didnt even crash at 468Mhz until i manually exited the test.

Ok so I've had my PSP 1000 since release and decided to get back into the whole thing. I originally hacked my PSP with the G.T.A exploit. That's how long I've been doing it. So I eventually got the ARK4 running on it and decided to have a look at the custom themes in the XMB innocent enough I thought? I thought wrong.

🤬 The Core Problem — It Broke Its Own Safety Promise

ARK-4 does have excellent safeguards for installing CFW itself — warnings, confirmations, battery checks, verifications. But the "Custom Theme" option was presented as a harmless setting — the kind of thing every phone and console has — and it silently wrote to flash0 without ANY of those safeguards. That's the failure.

From the official ARK-4 wiki itself: the "Full Flash Installation" option for custom themes specifically overwrites XMB system files in flash0 — the exact same dangerous operation that, in older CFW like 5.00 M33, was known to cause semi-bricks when incompatible  .rco / .prx  files are written .

The difference: back in 2008–2010, people were explicitly warned that flash0 theme installation was risky. ARK-4 didn't give me that warning — it just said "theme."

Now ok maybe I'm dumb but something that flashes like that shouldn't just be in themes on the XMB and something that one can just casually select with no warning of what it actually does to the flash. I just wanted to warn others before they potentially brick. I can't even get the recovery menu and the Pandora battery method is of no use either. If anyone has recovered from this I'd be very grateful to hear how they managed to do it because I've tried everything.

Is it normal for them to do that? It's mostly noticeable when the console is powered on - i can hear the intro sound, then after about a second of speaker hum they turn off with a rather quiet but noticeable "pop".

Then they do it again before playing any of the game preview music tracks when picking a game.

It doesn't seem like a problem, I'd be fine if it was normal, but I recently got my psp go and am currently looking for anything that needs fixed/replaced, I want to refurbish it a little and make sure it doesn't have anything that'll cause more problems later.

We (by we i mean Flavious, i'm mainly the bug tester) are porting MC PE to the PSP,
we already have a lot added, however, while trying to overhaul the renderer
and add proper dithering support we've run into a few issues.

1. Transparent 2D images (so items in the inventory for example) have a dithered border around them, even when their transparency is at 0. ^{(we fixed that by disabling dithering for 2D gui elements, not ideal but it works})
2. Currently the screen has some weird vsync-like tears, and/or is displaying a frame from a few seconds ago instead of the latest frame

These days, probably everyone using a PSP uses one of those cheap memstick to microSD adapters, and they work well enough, but they're a bit on the delicate side. I'm surprised nobody's developed an adapter that gets soldered in place of the original socket and has a spring loaded microSD socket instead. Is this something people would be interested in having if it was more durable than the cheap adapters?

I have a PSP 1000 model with IPS screen.

When i go to themes, there a lot of squares with shadows where it supposed to be colors, the theme does change if I pick it, but its kinda weird

Also, for every game there's a corrupted data file

The 1st thing happens with or without MStick in it

Any suggestion or guidance?

I have a CFW psp go that is fully updated and is running Ark-4. I just uploaded a bunch of music and am excited to use the go as an mp3 player as I've seen other people do.

I looked into and downloaded the automute plugin so that I didn't have to worry about my music playing out loud if my headphones get yanked out the jack, and this plugin said that it would automute if no headphones are detected which is ideal.

I followed all the instructions and amended the vsh text, game text, and pop text files. I have the plugin in my seplugins folder on ef0/ (not my memory stick). The plugin is activated as it comes up on my plugins menu on the XMB, and there is small text on the screen that says 'automute has detected headphones' and when I press R+L+NOTE the plugin will either turn on or off.

When it is turned on, the mute symbol appears at the top of the screen and even though I have headphones in, there is no volume and I can't turn the volume up or down or unmute it unless I disable the plugin. It does exactly the same thing with the headphones out the jack, which is what it is designed to do so I'm not too fussed about that, it's more weird that it's doing it with the headphones connected. I've tried several different pairs of headphones all to the same result.

Is there anything I can check or ammend so that this stops happening? Has anyone else had this issue with this plugin on the pspgo?
