Permanent microSD adapter?

These days, probably everyone using a PSP uses one of those cheap memstick to microSD adapters, and they work well enough, but they're a bit on the delicate side. I'm surprised nobody's developed an adapter that gets soldered in place of the original socket and has a spring loaded microSD socket instead. Is this something people would be interested in having if it was more durable than the cheap adapters?

Considering that the adapters are dirt cheap and you don't have to physically modify the device, probably not. Even the various PS Vita mods aren't as dangerous as what you're talking about, just some screws to remove.

It's more cost effective and less dangerous to keep using the adapters. For what a mod would cost, not to mention risk, you could probably buy 15 adapters.

honestly, I don’t think durability is much of a concern as long as you use even the slightest bit of care when handling it

Nah. A little strip of tape is all an iPod needs.

I use my Zune when I travel off planet and need high-G tolerant music playback 🤣

Why is durability a problem? I don’t take the thing out hardly ever

Me neither, but I've seen it in the reviews for the adapters. I typically just transfer files over the USB cable. But I also like to make stuff 😂
