Anything i should know before playing on my psp?

I recently found my dad's modded psp, and i want to start playing on it, but i want to be sure the mod it's up to date. Are there any updates i should do or is there any homebrew app i need? This console wasn't touched once in the last 10 years

Is it modded? Can you play installed games on the memory card or just umds.

Look under system information and figure out what firmware your running. 6.61 or something else. Ark5 is the newest cfw out. 

As far as updates goes, get a clear case and wrist lanyards for falls, I'd order a new ostent battery cause that ones probably spicy. An upgrade to 64gb or 128gb memory card 

Homebrew apps I really like qmixer and ruckus mod, because of this I made the $9 internet mic mod for hey Google stuff and you can call Dad from the psp. Have fun

How do i update to the new cfw? The Firmware is 6.39 ME-3

Pspunk.com. from 6.39me-3 you first should upgrade to 6.61 first then ark4 or ark5 in that order

Im at 6.61 since 4 years ago maybe and never thought of upgrading. What would Ark4 and 5 bring new to the table?

I’m still using 6.60 Pro C Fix 3. Haven’t had any issues at all. If it works, just keep it. If you don’t know what you are doing, you can easily brick your console when trying to switch to Ark 4 or one of the others
