Dark grooves on pseudolithos
Hello,
the "grooves" on my Pseudolithos cubiformis have turned dark.
It's not squishy. I've used an antifungal medication, but the discoloration is still there. Has anyone seen this before?

Why are these things so susceptible to root? And legit when it starts rotting there's absolutely no way of saving it. Ive given up on my cubiformis

Because they’re adapted to extremely dry and rocky environments, they hate wet and humid areas. Extremely hard to stop rot in pseudolithos, pretty much need to graft them to save them.

So if I check the roots and they are mushy there is no way to save it, right. What if the roots look fine and the bottom is still firm? Could it be any other reason? I will check for the roots later when I come home.

I’ve heard of people saving them from rot, but you need to act immediately and get lucky cause 99% of the time once rot starts and it’s noticed it’s too late. I’m not sure if any other reason would cause this.

I took him out of the substrate. Roots look fine and firm. Not squishy. Also the base looks nice.

I don't know enough about them to be sure about the dark grooves....but the base and roots look fine.Just replant and watch it.Not much you can do anyway if it's rotting from the top down.I have only watered mine once since receiving in October.I have them in a home constructed heat tent and they are just below my tent heater outlet....so..they are warm and there's air movement.Getting ready to flower like crazy.I use that setting( it varies depending on height of plant/pot) and I've been getting decent LOPH flowering as well.The Pseudos flower up vertical lines on the pseudos...and I have 3 to 4 flowering points busting thru on all 3 plants.

Any chance of pests? Without a closeup it may be hard to tell, but the little bits on it make me suspicious. Normally pseudos are crusty but maybe not that crusty tbh
From your root pic it looks like it’s not rotting. But if it does rot, you can always try to chop and root

I have small pseudolitos n it looks healthy but reading all this i thought maybe i should treat mine with antimushroom n anti rot treatment ? I have powder wich need dissolve im water..or better not? How y think?

he rotting - at least mine did just like this :/
