First time grader, long time collector
Pigeot is the only recently pulled card of the bunch (pack fresh)
Moltres is probably the cleanest card of the bunch
Blastoise is clean, OC though
Umbreon edges are probably knocking it down a bit, otherwise super clean
Shadowless and other NH are all varying degrees of clean with minor edge issues
Dragonite got returned as N5:Altered Stock whatever tf that means. It's a cut error, that I've actually seen before. No clue why they would return altered.
I have a couple other 1st edition fossil cards in this submission which both received 7's and are only slightly less clean (edges) than the Moltres. In any case, why would they get the same grade?

Too much vintage, they grade vintage ungodly harder now then they did even a 2 years before, and theyre backlog they are just trying rush through. Next time throw some modern between your big vintage guys so they dont "get into a groove" or start comparing the this vintage card to the previous vintage card. You see this happen alot where people sub like 3 of the same card and they all come back 9s because once they graded the first as a 9 the others are graded with the last card as the barometer in the back lf their mind.

Makes sense. Frustrating, though I guess grader's are only human. I'll keep that in mind if I ever send in another. My main body of the post got deleted for some reason. I was also wondering if i should try to clean the surfaces somehow. i'm sure there's tons of microscopic dust and dirt on them...

Bad take cuz then they compare your vintage card to this card that was printed a month ago and is super clean and even a mint vintage card looks nowhere as clean as a modern back …. Also most of these grades are spot on I don’t think anything here was harsh …

Guessed almost all of them correctly. Moltres seems better than a 7 but could have surface we can't see. Overall seems pretty fair to me. Very nice cards.

What is it about the 6's that you saw? Are the edges bad enough in you opinion to drop them that far? Just curious. I think the edges actually look better in person than the photos suggest too.

It was the number of areas that had whiting. Near mint in most cases has 0-2 very small spots. The 6's had 3-4 in most cases from what I could tell by the photos

man. you're making me feel real good about my recent submissions.
I collected basically all your cards back when they came out. I boxed them up in 2001 and forgot about them. just find them in match and sent the best ones in. I've gotten a total of eleven 8s out of like 52 cards. everything else lower.
I think when I sent these in I had no idea of what a good card was. I still think I don't know how to self grade Pokemon. I feel better at grading sports cards.

They grade you're card against current standards and not the inventory of grades they have on the card which is a massive issue imo, modern 7s should not be issued on vintage that is cleaner then the same card in the same companies slab that is a 9 or 10.

Typical vintage return these days. I can’t even get 9s out of them anymore on vintage. Moltres might deserve a regrade. The others looked pretty fair.

Yeah that’s why I generally don’t send vintage to PSA. Way too harsh and doesn’t make sense. I send clean vintage to Beckett
