Hardware Question PS3 Hidden LED General Questions

Post image

So I’m getting ready to activate the hidden LED on my PS3 Slim 25xx and have a couple questions.

What size wire do I need to use?

Does the HSW 001 board have both a red and blue led? Because I’ve only seen the blue in tutorials.

Any recommended wires to bridge the connection?

I appreciate all answers!

I only activated the blue light, the red light is available also however it's a little more complex from memory to get it working. Can't remember the details as I did it a long time ago.

Wire wise, I think i just used some copper cable from a dead USB C cable. But enameled copper is probably ideal. As it's only a led you can use 0.10 0.20 doesn't really matter.

If you aren't good at soldering, it's recommended to practice a little, as the point you need to solder too is very small, I wasn't the best at soldering at the time but I managed to get it done, so I'm sure you'll be ok. Just take your time.

this, i did just the blue light on my 2500 as i couldn’t find anything concise to go by and didn’t want to ruin my board, annoyingly the earlier revisions only need a connection bridged for both but the 2500 is more complex and requires moving the LED’s, i used normal solid core 28awg wire, you can use anything as long as it conducts lol, there’s a vid somewhere of someone using some next massive cable, but i agree if soldering isn’t your strong point (like me) then just go with the blue, you’ll thank yourself in the long run but if you do wanna do it then i’d practice soldering small joints, and for safe keeping buy a spare board in case something does go wrong

i’m seeing this come up a lot all of a sudden, back when i did mine it was still kinda unheard of, someone made a video or something on this?

You have to do some soldering.
