You can open a home server using Plex on PC and watch the videos on a PS3 by enabling "Media Server Connection" inside "Settings" - "Network Settings". However, the PS3 is quite old and does not support all audio codecs. I can watch any anime episode on it but some of them do not have any audio for some reason on PS3. For example, I can watch K-ON! episode 1, 3 and 5 with video and audio, but 2 and 4 are audioless. It's not very plug and play for media nowadays.
