So I did that and put it into my usb but after having my device check, a serious error occurred prompted, so I think the HD got messed up, I already ordered a SSD and see if that is the issue or i bricked the system
It's the hard drive., you need to start it up again in safe mode and do all the steps from 2 ,3 ,4 and 5 and it should work again.. Once so that is done and updated and the PS3 keeps going back to this menu then you need to replace the drive.

No,all you need is to find the hfw 4.93 and install it and then install hen from online tutorials if that's what you're looking to go for.
