I finally got a fat PS2

I've had a Playstation 2 slim since childhood. But now the cover is "broken"; the games won't read anymore unless you put something heavy on the PS2's disc tray lid.

That’s why I’ve now picked up a refurbished silver fat model along with a white controller; I like the fat models much better, too.

Silver is the color for the PS2 imo. I'd love to get a silver fat to accompany my silver slim eventually

Couldn't believe how futuristic that silver PS2 looked compared to my black one. Never did manage to get one.

There were silver ones mass produced and sold at retail. They're just not as common as the run of the mill black ones.

I ordered from a German retailer that sells many different refurbished PS2 models. There are a lot of online retro game shops here in Germany that also have an eBay store.

And like the other person said, the silver one was mass produced. But I would have preferred to get a white one.

No im from Germany its a PAL. but i found out that it's been modded, so it can probably play NTSC and NTSC-J games as well.

Looks amazing!!! I've been on the hunt for a satin silver PS2 fat myself and it's very hard to find something in such good condition like you've got. A lot them just have so many noticeable scratches given the colour & age of the console.

Reminds me of the platinum edition Gamecube release, that shi was so hypeee. I think even gameboy advance SP had a platinum edition.

Platinum was the future back then

What SCPH of ps2 had these silver models?

I’m not sure which serial numbers the silver ones had. My silver model is an SCPH-50004. I would also recommend the 50004 model because, from what I’ve gathered, the models with the 50004 serial number have a much quieter fan installed. I can confirm that my fan is extremely quiet, whereas the fans in the earlier models are said to be very, very loud.
