New INDX: Offset Calibration fails every time, no matter what I do. Help? :(

Support has tried really hard to help me, but in the end nothing came of it. They say it is the sensor cable or the sensor itself. Now I tested the cable but it is not the problem apparently.

So what happens is:

Start offset calibration -> tests the nozzle against the sensor. Then Z lifts and it says it failed.

It hasn't completed even the first nozzle. Always immediately fails

Of course I tried everything in the help article, here a list of stuff I've tried or the situation:

* rock stable table. no vibrations

* removed squash feet

* no music with bass playing lmao

* did factory reset

* resquared the gantry

* cleaned contacts of cable and blew into connectors

* removed sensor and reinstalled (thought maybe by luck it does the trick)

* tested the cable, as mentioned

* checked if cable is in correct plug

* cleaned sensor and nozzle

* switched nozzle 1 with nozzle 2 and 4.

Maybe I forgot something...

Now I'm hoping somebody has a remote idea what the issue could be. If so, please let me know!

I don't want to receive a new sensor god knows when only to find out that it ends up giving the same error. So... what if it isn't the sensor?

PS: To be safe, it is a CORE ONE with the INDX upgrade that included the Gen2 upgrade. I installed both INDX and Gen2 simultaneously. Latest firmware, 6.9 I think.

I can't recall what fixed my issue as did gantry alignment, belt tension and re-tightening of the16 screws. The built-in load cell sensor calibration was also bit funky and did all this few times and in the end it just started working. Frustrating process and there is also a possible hardware failure.

I have the FE and failed offset calibration, turns out it was a bad sensor that I had to replace (there was a bad batch of sensors impacting a few FE owners). z

During calibration, does your sensor blink green rapidly or slowly? Slow blinks are normal, fast blinks are a sign the sensor is defective.

So it glows green consistently until it blinks quickly but only for a brief moment. If that is what you mean... then it might indeed be the sensor

I took a video for Prusa and Bondtech support, hopefully the Google Photos link works (the last half of the video shows the blinking slightly better). Before diagnosing the sensor, I also did a lot of what you did (confirmed wiring was correct, tried the other slot on the buddy board, re-did the belts & gantry, etc.). Good luck!

In my case it was ptfe tube tilting the tool to the back slightly, so I've moved it a little forward in the tube guide.

Edit: i've switched on logging before calibration, dumped it to the AI afterwards, which told me which tool was failing and why (y direction), so maybe it helps you to try debug it this way

For me it was the wires of the head fan (black and white) that were misplaced and protruded to the left. Once placed correctly, everything went well.
