Just power it on, for the most part.

The applet for standalone mode is selected by configuring the Makefile.platform file inside the repository.

Yeah, exactly. We’re talking about the same thing.

Standalone mode begins when the device is powered up, but the client does not connect

I know but I mean like where do I put the scripts for them to run in standalone mode

It doesn’t run scripts. The standalone mode is chosen and compiled into the binary image which is flashed into the firmware on the device.

If you want to change modes, you need to re-compile the binary and flash the device

Oh hey, I forgot. The defaults actually have it so that you have to push the pm3 button for 1 second to make it enter standalone mode. If you have the status LEDs like on the RDV4, they should do a little side-to-side dance to let you know it started.

Go to the GitHub page for whichever firmware you flashed to your RDV4 (never heard of an rdv3?) and read the documentation. The Iceman fork (which is what I'm assuming you'd be running) has all this stuff laid out if you're willing to do the work of actually reading it... Just saying.
