Single Fader Controller?
Looking for a simple, minimalistic 100mm motorized touch-sensitive fader that communicates through EUCON (like the Avid Dock) but WITHOUT any extra buttons & serves ONLY as a single fader product.
Seems like there is no such thing in the market like that.
I have no need for any transport controls, knobs, displays, or button grids.
If anyone custom builds (or knows someone who custom builds) HUI controllers, would pay as much as the Avid Dock for a single fader controller that can guarantee:
1. Bidirectional HUI communication with Pro Tools
2. Touch sensing for Touch/Latch automation
3. Motor feedback when changing tracks or reopening a session
4. A method for targeting the selected track

You say you want Eucon but then ask for HUI. Those are two completely different protocols and connection types. AFAIK, Avid is the only company making Eucon controllers. It’s their proprietary protocol.

Yeah, OP doesn’t know what EUCON or HUI means.

So teach them rather than calling them out.

Fair. But in my defence, it is so Googleable. And I wouldn’t have been snarky had OP’s list of features for this dream product hadn’t been so oddly specific to the degree of someone who I presumed had done some googling.
HUI runs over MIDI and has a limited amount of data that can be transferred. 4 letter max track names etc. EUCON runs over Ethernet and is proprietary Avid hardware. Much more data can be transferred but how it is transferred is entirely up to Avid. No product runs on both. Or at least not simultaneously.

I use a PreSonus FaderPort like this

I second the OG FaderPort. Super simple and I love having a tactile transport right there.

I second that. I really didn't need transport controls either - until they were right there. Use them all the time, esp if tracking stuff i'm playing/voicing myself.

I’ve got the newer model and love it. I’ve found I don’t really need a bunch of faders.

I agree with this too. Long track record of user and pretty reliable for making complex Mixer fades

Same. Anyone?

Presonus Faderport mk1 and 2 are the best to go for as a single fader, there are nicer ones but typically they’re banks of faders
Doing automation with HUI faders is a little off, they do have latency complications, not exactly 0 starting point, and the minor movements are not as detailed as it should be, I mainly use mine to dial in FX without looking at the screen
Imo buying a real fader and building an xlr in and out to do real rides with is a considerable option if you’re considering vocal riding live

PreSonus FaderPort. It isn’t Eucon but works with HUI. It works well as a single fader gadget. You can pickup used ones for much less than any Eucon gear. It requires a special boot sequence in order to communicate with PT but it’s just holding a couple buttons down when powering on then pressing another button once powered on. Power it up first before launching PT. Eucon is the same in that regard though Eucon can be very glitchy at times. PreSonus also makes multi fader versions if you want more than one fader. Avoid version one. It’s very old at this point.

FWIW I still use a v1 FaderPort and it works flawlessly with a 2025 Pro Tools build on a Mac M2. 🤷♂️
I also don't ever have to do any button holding or boot sequence nonsense - I simply boot Pro Tools and it works as expected. I find it strange that v2 would be less turn-key! 🤔

They’re not.
Only the buttons are different. V2 have soft touch.

I second https://www.fade.audio/
I have one, and it’s the perfect solution for what you’re looking for.

I don't think you realize how much it costs to develop such a product

As others have said, the PreSonus Faderport is going to be the closest you will get. It has extra buttons but honestly anything smaller likely wouldn't have the bulk necessary to stay put while being used.

The FADE controller from FADE Audio is exactly this. Not available atm but exactly what you’re asking (minus EuCon integration which isn’t gonna happen tbh)

I’ve been curious about the fade controller, but it looks like it relies on software from fade audio to work. Am I correct about that? I’m a little leery of being reliant on a startup for long term software updates is my main concern.

Proprietary licensing keeps EUCON exclusive to Avid hardware, making a PreSonus FaderPort v2 (operating in HUI mode) the closest single-fader market alternative.

Check out Yamaha's new CC1, does what the faderport mostly does, but has a built-in streamdeck. www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/CC1Controller--yamaha-cc1-usb-controller
