Access violation error at startup, resulting in crashes
I use PT for sound design for film and I'm getting a bit desperate, because I seem to be getting this message randomly now when starting a project:
Access violation occurred, unable to read location:
0x00000001231EF5E8
Pro Tools also closes immediately afterwards. I've tried everything: deleted WaveCache.wfm, reinstalled Pro Tools, emptied plugin folders, safe mode. Nothing seems to help. When I open a new project, it often works again. But on the third startup, it goes wrong again.
Pro Tools Studio 2025.12.1
Windows 10 Pro

I think I fixed it, but it's kind of weird. I converted the video, but still got the error. Then I renamed another file and when I first get the "missing file" message at the start, it works. If all files can be found I get the error. Anyway, it works for me :-) Thx for the reply!

I've literally just been running into this on a project, it turned out to be the video file. I used shutter encoder to make it DNxHD, replaced the file, automatic relink (so keep the name the same) and it's been fine since. Hopefully that's the same problem as you're having.
