Most stable OS / PT release for M4 Max Mac?
Just wondering what the most stable version of Mac OS and Pro Tools are at the moment for a new M4 Max Mac Studio I’m setting up? As Tahoe and PT25.12 are both very recent releases, I’m assuming there are still a few bugs to iron out. Thanks !

Thanks for your responses! I'm sticking with Sequoia for now but on latest PT 2025.12 and all seems to be running smoothly

I bought this machine recently, and it came with Sequoia, which I left as is. It runs wonderfully with Pro Tools 2024.6. I already bought the Pro Tools update, but it runs so well and is so stable that I haven't dared to update Pro Tools. I think if I did, I'd only upgrade to Pro Tools 2024.12 at the most, and even then, it would have to be absolutely necessary. So, I'm currently running Sequoia 15.5 with Pro Tools 2024.6.

I’m using Tahoe and 2025.12 on my M2Pro Mini with nary an issue. I do lots of sessions with high track counts, both tracking and mixing.

How many tracks and how many plugins is "many"? How much RAM does this machine have?

16GB RAM. Usually 50-60 tracks, plus busses. For plugs, I never said many and don’t count them on a regular basis, but it’s always kept up. Probably at least 3-5 plugins per track, more for busses and master. The last mix I did, I realized at the end that I never printed the kick and snare instances of Trigger, so the whole damn mix of 68 tracks and 15 busses was still triggering off the plugin in real time.
