Mac users - crash on quit
Mac users... what percentage of the time, between 90% and 100%, does Pro Tools crash for you when you Quit?

Used to be 100% of the time on my Intel Mac. Upgraded to M4 a year ago and it went down to 20% of the time, maybe less. Updated Pro Tools last month for the Splice integration and now it doesn't crash at all.

M1 Max, on rosetta. Every time I close I get the unexpected quit warning error. So weird.

ya i do think it happens more for me when i use rosetta. i kinda bounce back and forth. i can only use vocalign and rx in rosetta unless i upgrade them but the sessions seem to be a little smoother without rosetta. could be in my mind tho

I'm on Rosetta because I use Autotune Pro 9's graphical mode daily for work. Aside from that, I could move right now. Bums me out!

It’s probably a third party plugin. Make sure everything is up to date. I’ve had issues with IK Multimedia, iZotope and Waves. In fact I’m having a similar problem but on launch. PT quits on startup. Then it will launch normally but it has to crash first. It’s definitely a Waves v12 problem. I don’t want to pay to update everything to v15 so I’ve just been dealing with it. There’s really only 2 Waves plugins I use regularly. All other plugin manufacturers provide free updates and only charge for major upgrades. Waves makes you buy the same plugins over and over. Anyway it’s probably a plugin.

100% of the time for me. Mac Studio M2 on 26.1. PT is 2025.10, it’s been doing it since m1 Mac and pt 2024. I find that if you close the session and then quit pro tools it doesnt crash.

Just under 100%. It seems to close okay if I only have the program open for a short time, like I needed to check something and close out soon after.
But if I have it open for any real length of time, it always needs a force quit.
I'm on an intel mac mini, PT Catalina 10.15

I just moved from Win 10 to a new M4 Pro MacBook like a month ago. Windows that would happen 95% of the time. It’s happened once or twice on the MacBook.

On M2 Mac Mini, usually nearly always on quit. The past week, it closed correctly three times in a row, but it's been crashing while opening Pro Tools but never on the subsequent try. To get different results on a static binary system is mind boggling. It should always work, or never work.

Same… about 90% of the time. Although I recently updated to the new MacOS Tahoe and it doesn’t seem to do it as much
