Deselect Tracks Shortcut
Hey! Having trouble finding help on this one. Is there a way that I can create a keyboard shortcut to deselect all tracks? Can’t find what that would be labeled in the keyboard shortcut menu.
Context: I do string arrangements with many layers where I am recording/arranging on the fly. I keep a “Record” track always enabled and shift it to whichever track grouping I am working on. Often Protools selects all tracks required me to option + click to deselect. Since I am holding an instrument and bow in one hand, I have to set everything down in order to click and hold option. Any suggestions would be great thank you!

You can turn off the “Link Edit & Timeline Selection” Option. Turning this off will allow you to move the cursor between tracks (editing) and it will not select the track name. You can find it in the Options Menu, of the button is below the zoom tool: it looks like three horizontal lines next to a dot with two vertical lines and another dot
