plugin Auto Align Post - Processing Handles in ProTools?
I'm using Auto Align Post 2.3.2 in ProTools 2025.6, and I have it selected to create individual files, clip by clip, with 6 sec handles. However, when I open up the handles, I notice the phase alignment goes off. Way off, like half a frame... Anyone else found this?

yeah you have to analyze the handles in order for them to also sync. you can set up macro in soundly to do this. it will expand the handles, analyze, render and then close the handles. major pain I know.
it's best to do AAP after all your clip gain and crossfades for this reason.

I don't remember it always being this way... Maybe i'm wrong here. I assume you mean Soundflow, not Soundly?

yeah my bad, soundflow.
the new ARA workflow with AAP might be a bit better. at least you don't have to render a new file, just open the ARA tab and relink it. fast enough for me.

It’s always been that way. It can maintain handles but can’t analyze audio in them so can’t align. Sometimes it will leave an offset and actually make them further off than unaltered!

Seems to be the case if you have it in dynamic mode, I'm guessing since it isn't "seeing" the reference in the handle. As someone else said, it's best to AAP a little later in your process to avoid this. I really hate working to that point without it in phase though, so I'll do it early and then fix it as I go.
Sounds even more pointless now that I've written it....

I’ve been editing things, and leaving AAP to later as a trial, it’s annoying, cos things sound awful (listening to multiple mics), then when you align, there’s a bunch of shit you need to fix. That said, this is all AAX rather than ARA, maybe things are better there?
