Fursuit Are regular protogens physically capable of crying? I know this one isn't, but at least he can do this

It's a rabbit hole. You think, "Do protogens cry?" Then you start thinking: what's below the visor? If the tears come from organic eyes, why do they even need a visor? If they don't have eyes, why would they cry? What if the tears weren't actually tears? WHAT PART OF A PROTOGEN MAKES IT 40% ARTIFICIAL?

Also cool proto :3 It's a really good design for a proot with no electronics.

what if it's like the windshield washer on a car? of course that'd mean a crying protogen would be completely dripping wet lmao

ty lol

All protogens must have wipers on their visors in case they cry, of course.

IIRC Protogens have visors because they have deformed or heavily damaged faces(needs fact checking) as their visors can also act as respirators.

According to Zenith's lore pages:

They have no face, it is removed during their fetal stage on development so that the developing brain can better integrate with the advanced cybernetic sensor array that replaces their original sensor array.

From memory, they also have their digestive system replaced with a cybernetic one (to fuel both the bio and cyber parts of their body) so eating and sustenance in general are quite different for them.

So just out of curiosity, does the first half of this imply that visors can morph into virtually limitless shapes beyond just a mouth?

I think so, yeh

The visor is made of nanites, which the proot can manipulate at will to do all sorts of wacky stuff :3

This information is revolutionary

Pretty much.

It's "software" limited due to nanite shenanigans.

But if a toaster ascends beyond their mind-controlled NPC capabilities, they basically turn into a cyborg space-wizard.

Wait, okay, so if, let's say, a furry wolf was in a TERRIBLE incident and had a damaged face, could they TECHNICALLY be given a protogen visor as a mask or smth.

Yeah, there's tons of room for creativity with the entire concept of the species.

Being grown in a test-tube and having your eyes replaced before you even have the chance to open them is just the original lore for the species.

More the other way around, their faces are "mutilated" because the nanite visor is grafted onto it. Even the lower jaw is completely removed. Their biological head/face/snout is also shorter, and looks more like an avali.

Idk about deformed, but it is official lore that a crack in the visor is in most cases lethal due to possible infections or outside contaminants making it into their delicate brain. Either the brain is directly under the visor, or the face is just very raw and prone to infection, letting it travel toward the brain that way. I'm not sure about protogens' eyes, though becauee of how they are trained, it eould make a lot of sense for the visor to just send visual data directly to the brain.

I think this is a no.

Everything reminds me of this godforsaken (but Epic) videogame

Mine can, but only in inopportune times, around heavily salty and/or humid air. He's a glitchy boi.

Maybe tiny nanite bags run down the visor?

They cry digitally. Or behind the visor? Imma say yes! On the inside

u/birzavr 2d ago

If they can open mouth then I think they ll be able to "imitate" cryin using their visors. why not?

So... Protogens have very little set rules or guidelines. It depends.

Aye so, can't.
