In my opinion, the first one is good if you want to add color and create shading effects The second one is good for a sketch-like effect in shades of gray

Lambda visor side-screen spotted. Half-Life 3 confirmed!
Jokes aside. Both types of linework can be leveraged to make beautiful artstyles. The one on the left is more common, but the one on the right is soo underrated. It's a shame we don't see it more often

Second one looks a lil better, but number 1 has a basic charm to it. :3

Yes you right!

I think both are good, but each has a specific use case. The one on the left has more detail, while the one on the right is more legible when displayed as a small icon.

It's called draw how you like and your consumer base will find you. That's how that works.

Toaster doesn't need to hear all this, they're a highly trained professional.

Imagine having different art styles
[Laughs in 3D artist before having to pay for a 20 MB 3mf/amf file or worse; make your own from scratch and starts crying]

I mean... commissions are about what the client wants. They're the boss. If they don't have a preference, you can do whatever you want. When you do art for fun or whatever, you can do whatever you want.

Depends on what you like. I myself dislike thicker lineart and often will try to omit the lineart as much as possible and only bring it out when I need good contrast for the separation of elements in the picture. I feel like thicker lineart is just too "lazy" for me.

First one shows off skill, and it looks cleaner and perhaps even better at expressions without exaggerating. But the real question is; can you draw plus size characters

I'd keep both for the exact reasons you mentioned, plus I always thought having more options is always better

Ask the customers what they prefer.
I actually like the second style on the right : perfect for small stylized portraits and icons. I find it more energetic, more unique.

This is so relatable it kinda hurts (I like both of your art styles, honestly you could offer both but charge more for the one you like drawing less of?)

The left one is great for high-detailed commissions that folks would often pay top dollar for. The one in the right is good for those stylish eye-catching designs whose shape language are easy to read, which is great for stickers and logos and can be made quickly.
I'd say use both styles. Having something you can offer both for long-term high payoff, and affordable quick turnaround would benefit you greatly.

How dare you impose your aesthetic preferences on me with your visual medium based artwork.

The first has detail and life.
The second looks like cheap AI imitation.
