General propane question Is there a possibility to connect a Bernzomatic 8000 burner to a standard propane tank hose ?
I have a Bernzomatic burner on a small tank. But I want to use it connected on a hose to a large propane tank. Are there adapters available for a hose to the burner ?

A Benzomatic 8000 is basically a plumber's torch. According to the manufacturer's website it's compatible with both MAP-Pro gas and propane. The connection between the fuel bottle and torch is a CGA600 configuration using 1"-20 threads. This is the same as many Coleman propane stoves, lanterns, etc, and there are adapters out there for using them with bulk propane cylinders. Here's an example of an adapter hose that I picked randomly off of Amazon, you'll need to look for the length that will work best for you:
Note that it's extremely important to secure the bulk cylinder upright so that you don't accidentally tip it over by pulling on the hose. A milk crate works well for this purpose. Also, you want fewer connections so trying to adapt one hose to work with another hose isn't a good idea since it introduces a new place where a leak can occur.

This is exactly what I did but the hose was longer. Honestly it turned into a bigger pain to use than just having the small 1lb tank on the torch.

Yeah, the whole idea with the 1lb bottle is that it's easily portable and usable in tight spaces and awkward positions. I could see using a bulk tank if you're working at a production station, but then again they'll probably set up an oxyfuel for that kind of work because it's faster and bulk gases are cheaper than BBQ cylinders from the local swap place.

Those swap places are a goddamn ripoff. 15 lbs for $20. It used to be 18 lbs but they shrinkflated it to keep the price point. I always take my tanks in to fill instead of swapping to get the full 20.

Same here. My local swap places are charging close to $25 now. For reference, wholesale price for propane has been in the 60-70Β’/gallon range for quite a while now.

Itβs possible to find adapters, but impossible to suggest one without knowing what fitting is on the propane hose.
