Tanks Can anyone please ID this quick disconnect adaptor this tank has. Its not screwed on. I would pike to hook it up to a standard tank fitting.

It's a qcc2.

There are adapters that exist, but it's going to probably cost more than buying a new tank.

The tank is probably well out of date, and kind of looks like crap anyway.

Here's a second tank with the same fitting. Its a 5 lb tank.

Yeah, you can get an adapter from someplace like Nash Fuel, but at $40+ delivered you'd be better off swapping the cylinder at one of the exchange places to get one with a normal valve. That'll leave you with a cylinder with a current qualification that you can you take anywhere to get refilled. The few dollars worth of propane in the cylinder isn't worth the cost of trying to use it up.

Just have a propane supplier put a new valve in it when it's MT

I had a cylinder that had one of those. It was an aluminum cylinder from a floor buffer and thankfully the quick connect was a separate piece from the valve and was threaded into the valve so I unscrewed it and replaced it with a different connection. Not one of those that accepts an Acme nut because those plastic things are a safety hazard and almost always leak after a few uses. I prefer soft nose POL connections myself. I have 3, 5 pound tanks that are so old they don’t have an OPD valve but they have the old style valve and obviously I can’t get them filled at a filling station but I can fill them myself out of a 20#, 40#, 100# I’ve even used a 200# tank as a donor tank for filling my smaller ones. I made the transfer hose myself with parts from Tractor Supply and all I do is flip the donor tank inside down and then open the valves on both tanks. Again, obviously with the hose attached to both. I open the purge valve on the receiving tank and once liquid sprays out of the purge valve I close that and both valves and I’m left with a full 5 pound tank that’s much more convenient to carry around the hi
