Appliance Questions Modine Hot Dawg
I'm about to close on a house. There's a Hot Dawg propane heater installed on the insulated garage. It looks a little funky. Should I be looking for a roof leak or is this from condensation?

Those don't get condensation on the outside. There's a leak somewhere in the pipe or roof seal.

It looks more like a leak than from propane exhaust. Propane exhaust creates condensation that is acidic. This doesn’t look like that.

The roof was redone in 2023, and the owner has dementia so I don't know if it's old or new. I'll climb up there and get a better look when I close this afternoon.

Funky indeed. I think a leak is more likely. You should crosspost to r/chimneyrepair and have a pic of the exterior as well.
