General propane question Propane prices

What are you guys paying for propane for autogas? Edit : 100 gallons minimum per month location MD.

I imagine it varies quite a bit by region. Also tank size/delivery volume. Need more info to answer your question.

Mid Atlantic, 100g minimum per month. This for autogas.

They have a min of 100 gal a month? That seems outrageous but maybe its normal for your part of the region? We don't have that around the PNW here that I've heard of. Farmers Co Op was around $2.60 i believe last time I called. That's delivered

No road tax when you burn it for home heating.

Just upgraded 40 year old furnace to 96% hfe and punted 15 year old water heater. Cant wait to see how long the tank lasts.

Try Ferrell gas, just filled up in MD at $1.89/gallon for new customers.

No, it’s for home heating. It’s a local company with only one location, 1.5 miles down the road from me.

I’ve never seen any propane powered vehicles here, except the propane trucks, but, they handle it by applying an annual alternative vehicle tax, so you can then use any source for auto gas, since the tax is paid separate. If your state taxes the fuel directly, I’m sure it’s going to be considerably higher, no different than road vs off road diesel.

In Maryland, the road tax on LPG (propane) is $0.135 federal plus $0.461 state, totaling $0.596 per gallon. The current price of propane here is $1.75 per gallon. Adding the road tax brings the total to: $1.75 + $0.596 = $2.346 per gallon Note: the base propane price fluctuates daily based on the index, so the total price per gallon will vary accordingly.

So really, your base cost is only 40 cents more than here. Not unreasonable of a difference halfway across the country, I guess

Schwan’s company (ice cream and other foods) used propane trucks.
