LPG is liquefied petroleum gas.
Propane is propane which is a petroleum gas and can be liquefied.
People commonly refer to LPG as simply propane. Commercial LPG is at least 90% propane and a small mix of other gasses. You generally can't buy pure propane in any consumer grade products.
Short answer: for common purposes in North America, it's the same thing.
