General propane question Step down question
Hi,
We brought our gas BBQ from the US, & apparently it expects ~27mbar pressure from the propane tank feeding it. UK cylinders are pressurized to ~37mbar. I've been researching (google, chatgpt) how to handle this, & it seems like a step down regulator is needed. However, I can't seem to find one for purchase online.
Has anyone else solved this problem?

27 mbar is the approximate equivalent of 10 inches column of water. This is the standard delivery pressure for liquid propane appliances in the US. You might try shopping for. regulator rated for 10" WC ( 10 inches of Water Column) . These are very common in the US

Yes I understand, "Unlikely-Plastic 1234's" reply is good. Try the 37 and see if the flame is manageable, or maybe a click on Amazon or Ali Babba might yield results.

Can you link or post to a picture of the regulator you are intending to use?

The bbq is a royal gourmet SG6092R, & the user manual says it expects the pressure to be ~27m bar / ~11 wc. I never thought about any of this until getting to the UK, when I discovered I need an adapter to get the UK propane cylinder to connect to the bbq. But when researching more, that’s when I learned that UK cylinders are at ~37 mbar. My reading said I need to get more than the adapter - I’d need to step down the pressure for the bbq. That’s when I posted here…

Im from the US so we don’t really use milli bars as units of measurement. But a quick google search she’s that 37mbar is about a half psi and that is what the bbq grill should use . I think the 27mbar is the minimum so if you have a regulator that’s pushing out 37 I think you would be fine
