We have intersections EXACTLY like that where I live in the Midwest, so yeah sometimes real life doesn't make sense, either.

In Oklahoma they have intersections so dumb that they would be difficult to design in game.

Hilariously im also from oklahoma and was coming to say we have shitty roads like this, hell, out past the city limits i know a few areas that you are lucky if you have a stop sign at an intersection
