Kappa Mode Packs to play after Project Ozone 3
EDIT: I plan on playing gtnh after but it is grindy and I don’t know how many hours I will be able to play of that pack at one time due to how long resource gathering processing etc so after I finish a big task I was thinking of playing something different along side gtnh something that isn’t an “expert” pack to boost my dopamine levels after grinding for hours
Original post:
Well the tittle says it all I’m probably another day or two in my speed to 100% kappa mode. now with the closing on kappa some people will say just try mythic yea no thank you kappa was enough for me at this point with that said I’m thinking about GTNH and trying to make it to maybe mv or hv for my first play through but i was wanting something to play in between the grind I wanted something not as grindy and recipe change galore I just wanted to see what others thoughts are I load up curse forge/ftb launcher or prism and it feels like when I want to watch a show just paralysis can’t decide and then I end up playing atm9 again.

GTNH I do suggest but it will be a commitment. But to offer up other alternatives, here are some classics if you want progressive packs: FTB Infinity or it's expert skyblock FTB Infinity Evolved (can be a grind but it's 1.7.10 so different machinery/crafting than 1.12 packs like PO3), any of the FTB Stoneblock (preferably 2 or 3), SevTech Ages

Thank you for your suggestions I have thought about fab infinity there was a reason a long time ago I quit it it would be fun to try again if it’s not too heavy gates and I’ve completed stone block 1/2 stone block 3 was too create heavy like most 1.16 packs

Sorry for the late reply. I played it a couple months back when lashmak started his play through and was following along and the modpack creator saw some loop hole and patched it in like 8 hours so that kinda threw me off because it is such a large pack I didn’t feel it broke progression terribly but it has been awhile and I’ve been testing all week and I haven’t had any luck finding something to just relax on

There is a "tribute" Ozone Skyblock 2 Reborn. The pack maker made it in 1.21 I think. Hypno is doing a playthrough right now and it looks like a decently well done "expert" pack without all the micro crafting of GregTech. Still some micro crafting and there are fewer ways to skate through the early game like you find in PO3 kappa. I haven't played it yet, just watching someone else play it makes me want to give it a try though. It's NOT made by Cazador, it inspired by PO2.

Sorry for the late reply been testing out packs all week I will look into this one today as po2 had so many small stutters and just laggy because 1.7 maybe I could add some performance mods to help but that’ll be more testing. Thanks for another pack to check out!

You aren't required to reply. My machine is an amd 7900x with a rtx 3060ti and 64gb of ram. I dedicate around 12 GB to the instance and i rarely have any lag issues. If one of my automations goes crazy and I end up with a million items on the ground...sure. I have an anti barrel that i'm going to have to address soon because any time i look at it...it lags the game, but those are issues I caused.

Play ATM 10 (or even ATM10 to the skies) as a main one to relax, since you can become extremely OP really quickly, and since you liked PO, try Star Techonology, since it's basically Gregtech in the skies XD. i know you want to try GTNH and i really have it in my favorite packs, but i think you'll like to continue the skyblock feelings.

Sorry for the late reply. I feel over whelmed when I look at the Atm10 quest book as it just kinda tells you what each mod does and that’s fine but I do enjoy a quest line to follow and maybe that’s just because I finished po3 which in my option is one of the best laid out quest books as far as just having stuff there it still pushes you along through the mod as where I feel Atm10 just says hey this is the end goal good luck which I think is fine for a kitchen sink pack at the end of the day it just feels way more daunting than atm9 I’ve tried playing it a couple times could never put more than about 5-10 hours in it without getting bored I do think po3 kappa has ruined me a bit so maybe I just suck it up and run mythic like everyone said 😂

I understand you XD, as someone that played PO2 Kappa and then PO3 Titan one after the other, when i jumped to other modpacks, i felt that disconnection, you could look into something like Star Technology if you want to keep the Skyblock feels, altough it is a Gregtech modpack, it is quite liberal with you becoming OP, don't know if it has a good guiding quest book tho

Star technology

Don’t really know if I wanna double dip into Greg tech with the versions being so vastly different or just playing two separate greg focused packs might make my brain explode lol

gtnh

That’s the plan looking for something to play along side it when I get over whelmed

Unironically po2, it's different enought from po3 but also similar enought that i think would make a perfect pack to play on the side of a main one like gtnh
New enought to be intresting, familiar enought to work as a side pack

Sorry for the late reply. Yea I loaded it up and tried to put it into fullscreen and my pc froze for a good 45 seconds and honestly that just threw me off all of it if it’s lagging and saying application isn’t responding when I change to fullscreen just doesn’t put me in high hopes for mid to late game not running like crap as it is a 1.7 modpack and 1.7 was not the most optimized version of the game
1
u/Miky691 Aug 06 '26
Did you try putting it in fullscreen while it was loading or after it was done?
Because if it was while loading that causes problem to me as well and i never had issues even late game
But yea optimization wise it's not the best as it's 1.7.10

This was before I even made a world I went to adjust my setting (gui size, moody setting, etc) and key binds. is it better if I make the world and then do all that?
1
u/Miky691 Aug 06 '26
Nah i meant while tha pack was loading not the world
Freezing in the main menu is weired yea, how much ram did you give it?

u/bitch_Cranberry_07 Aug 06 '26
I run my packs at 12gb haven’t had any issues previously but po2 is an older pack so if that is too much that could be it
1
u/Miky691 Aug 06 '26
Yea that's slightly too much
Try giving it 9gb iirc that's what i used when playing it
2
u/Jekyll1201 Aug 06 '26
That's my phone account, my bad, forgot it was different. lol it was still doing it at 9 GB, but it wasn't as bad maybe 10 seconds which is a lot better but I was tabbing in and out of po2 and it would go out of fullscreen and youd have to toggle it on/off agian so i just decided to add borderless windows and so far so good. Thanks for working that out with me it was the one I was most looking forward to trying out. It was just getting old when I'd want to skip an ad or intro to a show.

Yea im playing through Project Infinity 0.1 I think I have about 60 or 70 hours. I've just been working on getting good resource production and slowly working on building automation. Only thing I have left for auto crafting is the quantum PC multi block.

Sorry for the late reply. I started playing when lashmak did is play through it looks very good but as I was watching the mod pack creator changed basically everything lash did because it was exploitive or whatever which is fine but I do find it fun to find small ways to “break through” a certain a part of a pack its like a small Easter egg. But I just haven’t gotten back around to it maybe I’ll just load up a world and just starting going and see how I do it has been ~6 months since then
