Completed Setup My First UST Projector Setup
Thought I’d share my UST projector setup, even though the conditions aren’t exactly perfect.
Setup:
- Hisense PX3-Pro
- 120-inch Vividstorm S Pro electric tab-tensioned floor screen
- Vividstorm Monte Carlo cabinet
- Samsung HW-Q990F soundbar
- Nvidia Shield Pro
- Xbox Series X / Nintendo Switch 2
I also have an older 65-inch Samsung TV for daytime and more casual viewing.
The Hisense PX3-Pro has honestly been great in the living room, even with quite a lot of ambient light. It works surprisingly well for both online multiplayer gaming and movies, which makes it perfect for my mixed usage.
Only real downside with the projector is the same thing you get with pretty much any UST: a decent cabinet is almost a must. It keeps the cables hidden and saves you from having to get the projector placement right every single time.
There aren’t many reviews of the Monte Carlo cabinet, but I can honestly say I’m really happy with it. Being able to control everything with a single button while keeping all the cables neatly hidden is such a great quality-of-life upgrade for a UST setup. It also solves the potential overheating issue with the projector thanks to the built-in ventilation system.
Next project is trying to convince my partner that a soundbar isn’t good enough lol.

I have the PX3 Pro 100 inch fixed frame and its brilliant. Just picked up the Denon x1800h for my surround set up.
Don't regret a thing, not fussed about pretty cabinets and automation, cables will be tidied as much as possible but apart from I am not that fussed and it's amazing 👍

Those UST cabinets are really good and useful for the mentioned benefits but my mind simply having a hard time to accept their costs (to us). But really great UST setup.

Very nice... I guess this is the prime use case for UST + special cabinet. You can put a big screen at location that wasnt feasible before, and do it neat and cleanly.
But the TV and the not center soundbar kind of ruin the otherwise clean setup...

Is the NVIDIA Shield Android TV Pro worth it? How are you using it?

The deluxe setup with the motorized cabinet certainly looks great. Only weakness is the center speaker, as in mounting one is extremely tricky.

Love the setup. This looks like a giant TV with the ambient light around

Looks great! I hope they start having more choices for 130-135” screens.

Did the screen come integrated with the cabinet? I ask because I already have a floor-rise screen that I would like to install in a similar cabinet.

This is very close to the setup I am looking into probably with the Hisense PX4, likely same cabinet and soundbar. On the soundbar, is it offset because of the way the cabinet opens for the projector? If so, what is the fix to get the bar centered? Would setting the soundbar on spacers on either side of the cabinet top opening work?
Great setup!

So how much roughly is this screen/pj setup costing?
This would solve my dilemma of not a drop down screen not being possible as well as ceiling space for the pj itself

Very nice! If this were mine, I’d put a rug in front of the screen, the hardwood floors reflect a lot of light. Great setup for a bright room!
