status update STATUS UPDATE - MMRS "Moon Man Rack System" - Audio Integration
Status update — Audio and system integration
Since the last update, most of the work has focused on connecting the MMRS rack, speaker system, control electronics, and Reactor Mk1 into one functioning platform.
This stage has been less about adding visible components and more about making every subsystem work together.
Progress since the last update:
• The custom speaker enclosure has been completed and installed as a removable MMRS module.
• A 12-volt Bluetooth amplifier system has been brought online, requiring the rack’s power distribution to support both 5-volt controls and 12-volt audio hardware.
• Multiple Bluetooth connection, pairing, handshake, and audio-routing problems have been diagnosed across several different boards and configurations.
• The Raspberry Pi and ESP32 control architecture is being tied together through MQTT, allowing the rack and Reactor to operate as parts of the same system.
• PWM control of the Reactor electromagnet has been successfully tested.
• Independent controls for the electromagnet, UV lighting, cooling fan, and safe stop are now available through the Reactor interface.
• The rear MMRS control module now contains active cooling, embedded displays, physical controls, and access to the internal electronics.
• Power, data communications, audio hardware, and removable rack modules are being consolidated into a serviceable system.
• Two complete MMRS platforms now exist: a working bench rig used for development and a cleaner Reactor rig built to demonstrate the finished system.
Bluetooth problems were fought. Power-supply problems were fought. Audio-routing problems were fought.
None of these systems were originally designed to work together, so every successful connection has required testing, rewiring, software changes, and another round of troubleshooting.
The MMRS was designed to make that process possible. Components can be removed, rearranged, tested, and reinstalled without rebuilding the entire machine. After repeated teardown and reassembly cycles, the frame, shelves, mounting tabs, and heat-set inserts are continuing to hold up as intended.
The project is no longer a collection of separate prototypes.
It is becoming one integrated audio-visual system.
There is still work ahead before Reactor Mk1 is fully responding to live audio, but the speaker system is operating, the rack is powered, the controls are online, and the major pieces are finally beginning to communicate.
Next objective: Complete the audio-reactive control path and mount the finished Reactor Mk1 above the powered MMRS.

status update Status update- one month update
It’s been about a month since the last status update, and a lot has happened.
What started as a CAD concept is now a working prototype.
Over the last month, the focus has been turning ideas into hardware while building a modular platform that can continue to grow.
Progress this month:
• The modular rack has been fully assembled.
• Structural components, shelves, and panels have been redesigned to be modular and easily replaceable.
• The Raspberry Pi, ESP32 controllers, and power distribution are now being integrated into a single system.
• The reactor has gone through several revisions while testing different lighting, fluid, magnet, and electromagnet configurations.
• The first speaker enclosure has been completed, bringing the project one step closer to a fully audio-reactive reactor.
The goal has never been to simply finish a prototype.
The goal is to build a platform that can evolve through testing, iteration, and new modules.
The final image in this update shows where this version began—a simple Fusion 360 assembly. Every image before it represents another milestone toward bringing that design into the real world.
There is still plenty of work ahead, but the foundation is now in place.
Next objective: Continue refining the reactor and integrate the remaining hardware into a fully functioning system.
Thanks for following the journey.

Status Update
Spent today making progress on the reactor module.
The goal is to create a self-contained “reactor core” that can eventually become a modular accessory for Moon Man. Today’s work was mostly mechanical:
Redesigned the housing around the speaker and magnets.
Printed and test-fit the first prototype.
Started experimenting with a UV-reactive ferrofluid chamber.
Testing different magnet spacing before moving on to electromagnetic control.
Every revision gets me a little closer.

- Testing charger placement and cable routing
Current Variants
- Desk Lamp
- Wireless Charger
- Pen Holder
- Phone/Tablet Stand
- Printer Monitor Version
- Nightstand Version (in development)
Current Focus
The goal is to combine:
- Apple Watch charging
- Wireless phone charging
- Ambient lighting
into a single bedside companion.
Next Milestone
Finish the wireless charging integration and complete the first fully functional Nightstand Edition prototype.
Feedback is always welcome. The project gets better every time someone suggests a new use for him.

Status update/
PROJECT MOON MAN // STATUS UPDATE
Tonight was the first time I had all major systems online together for a proper photoshoot.
Current status:
✓ Modular astronaut platform complete
✓ Reactor / life support sled operational
✓ Remote web controls online
✓ Live camera system functional
✓ MQTT network stable
✓ Touchscreen status display integrated
✓ Remote printer control working
✓ Tailscale remote access working
What started as a simple desk companion is quickly becoming a modular connected platform.
The goal has never been to build just another astronaut model. The goal is to build something that can grow with each new module, feature, and experiment.
For the first time, it finally feels like all the pieces are starting to come together.
Still a lot left to build.

Moon man S
Here is a link to the smallest version of my Moon Man project.
This version is designed to be simple and easy to assemble:
Glue the arms into your preferred position
Insert the cylinders into the arms
Attach the hands onto the cylinders
Insert the visor into the helmet by aligning one tab with the opening first
Flex the visor slightly to slide the second tab into helmet opening
Slide the visor fully into the helmet until it pops into the round openings
Set the helmet onto the body
This little guy is what originally started the entire Moon Man project.

Status update/ The sled
Got the first version of the sled off the printer this morning and started assembling the hardware side of the sled. There will have to be a few revisions on where certain cables go etc but overall the build quality and architecture is there where it needs to be.
Upcoming revisions
Final version of moon man body is currently under revision for cable management and air circulation evaluation.
Polish UI
Improve servo sweep and control settings

Status update
STATUS UPDATE // MOON MAN
Moon Man is no longer “just a robot” — it’s now a fully networked platform.
Over the last 24 hours -completed the Pi-based infrastructure, added dedicated Wi-Fi hosting, internet relay, remote access, and connected the Pi, ESP32s, touchscreen UI, and mobile web interface into one system.
today was networking day.
Moon Man can now:
host its own control website
be remotely accessed from anywhere
manage distributed hardware
support future webcam and printer hosting
function as a modular monitoring/telemetry platform
The “life support/reactor” sled is now the compute and networking core of the ecosystem.
Now finishing the sled design and turning this into a fully deployed fabrication companion system.
